Girls U11 match report

On Sunday, after competing in the regular season under 13 game, a team of Camberwell's under 11 girls participated in a round robin mini tournament at Altona. The girls played their first game against Eltham, taking a little while to get used to the softer ball and the short field. It was a good game with Tilly working hard on the crease, and Kira opening our account with a great first goal. We ran out winners 2-0.

Jennie Tames the Divvy Twos

When Joel Easson (current State League player) was recruited to play in the Under 12's, little did his mum Jennie know that a decade later she would be running up and down the lacrosse field brandishing a whistle.

U13 Match Report - Sat. 7th May

Camberwell Blitz 4 lost to Eltham 16
Playing the top ranked Eltham, the Blitz worked hard and showed growing grit and positional understanding. Frank McKenna and Rob Barber carried the goalie duties well and the Camberwell midfield chased hard with Ashby, Tubb and new player Liam Campbell impressing. Ned McKenna, Finn Whelen and Lachie Falconer Boag scored goals for Camberwell with Ed Whelen and Colby Gale making some slick passing and goal assists. The Blitz are handling the elevation from U11 well and can look forward to playing some of the lower ranked teams in coming weeks.

Meet our New Junior Coaches

With 30 new junior players joining our club for the 2016 season there was a need to expand the pool of coaches.

Four of our finest stepped up to take on Under 11 and Under 13 team coaching roles.  Our junior players and their parents will enjoy and benefit from the enthusiasm and outstanding lacrosse skills that these coaches bring to their new roles.  They all have busy lives attending to their own full-time education at tertiary or higher secondary levels so give them a word of thanks when you see them making time for the important work of junior coaching.
