A family tradition continues

At Camberwell we take great pride in being a family oriented lacrosse club, so it is always a cool feeling to see the younger generations follow in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents and take up Lacrosse.

We are in the finals!

Congratulations to our men's State League team, who made the finals for the first time in a decade, after downing Malvern 9-8 in a hard fought, emotional and action filled game.

Congratulations also to our men's Division 2 team, who made the finals after a dominant season.

U13 Magic finishes on a high

In round 1, Camberwell U13 Magic lost to Altona, but in the last game of the season we triumphed over them 12 goals to 2, highlighting the boys improvement over the season.  There was some sensational moves from the Boyd brothers finishing with 3 goals between them.  We were given a helping hand by Lachie Falconer Boag and Liam Cambell from Blitz who brought in 4 and 1 respectively. Finally Mason Lewis added another 4 to his total, bringing him up to 41 goals for the season and the third highest goal scorer in the U13 competition!

Camberwell Hosts Lightning Premiership

It was a busy day on Saturday when 400 junior players and parents descended on Dorothy Laver Reserve for the annual ‘Lightning Premiership’ conclusion to the winter season for Under 11 players.  Tony Hollenkamp co-ordinated the preparations and hosting with Jennie Easson assisting.

Under 17 Team Triumphs over Surrey

The Camberwell Under 17’s turned the tables on earlier season defeats at the hands of the Surrey, Eltham, Footscray combination to play some great ball-control lacrosse and achieve a 13-4 victory.

Congratulations to our U15 VIC representatives

Well done to Laura Braakhuis and Saskia Hollenkamp for making the U15 VIC Girls' Fire and Ice Squad, and to Jack Barnard, Joey Pagliaro, Dante Francese, Matt Stevenson and Ned McKenna (alternate) for making the U15 VIC Boys' Southern Crosse team.

Both teams will participate in the 2016 ALA U15 Nationals, which will be held at the Glenelg Lacrosse Club in Adelaide from October 2 - 8.

U13 Blitz Pipped in Thriller

With Liam Campbell and Rob Barker unavailable the Blitz went into the game with a diminished defensive line-up.   Surrey exploited this with a good start to score two opening goals before Falconer-Boag got the Blitz on the scoreboard with two goals. Surrey went to the first break a goal ahead but Camberwell bounced back strongly in the second term with Ed Whelen and  Falconer-Boag scoring and Ned Mc Kenna finding the net twice.

Camberwell Under 11’s on track for a fight back

Coming off the back of some big losses, the Camberwell U11 team were met with glorious sunshine on what was meant to be a stormy morning at Dorothy Laver. Taking this as an omen, we saw Matt Lamb take the first goal for Camberwell. There was some impressive defence by our new young recruit Bailey Nicholls, allowing the ball to make its way into the midfield and see another goal scored by Matt Lamb.
