Camberwell have again been overrun in the last quarter, going down to Caulfield 8-15.

The scores were locked at 7 a piece at 3/4 time, but a last quarter blitz from Caulfield saw them over the line. Townley provided the spark up front for Caulfield with 3 of his 5 goals coming in the last quarter.

For Camberwell, the scoring again was dominated by Lander with 5 goals and Ffrench popping up with his first State League goal.

SUMMARY:

The result of previous matches between these two sides has hardly gone true to form. Caulfield snatched a surprise win 2 seasons back when Camberwell were pushing for a top 4 berth. Yet Camberwell were comfortable winners in both games last season when Caulfield were the form side.

Camberwell have squandered a 3 goal lead at ¾ time to go down to Footscray in overtime by 4 goals. The scores were locked at 11 goals a piece when the final siren sounded. Footscray scored 4 overtime goals putting the result beyond doubt.

Camberwell State League is looking for their first win of the season, but will have a tough time getting past the new look Footscray side.

Footscray have been rebuilding their side over the past few years and look to have hit their straps this year. After pushing Eltham last week to a 8-12 loss, they have shown they can mix it with the best.

Congratulations to Wendy and Adam on the birth of Rebecca, a new edition to the Holmes family.

Applications are invited for the following positions for the U15 Victorian Representative teams (Boys: Western Metros, Southern Crosse, Eastside Kings, and Northern Warriors; Girls: Victoria Ice, Victoria Fire):

The teams will play in the U15 National Tournament to be held in Melbourne from 28 September - 4 October.
