Great news for our club and the commitment our members make more broadly to lacrosse.  

Jan Jackson has been awarded an AM in the Australia Day Honors list for her work for Women’s lacrosse.  The citation was:

“For significant service to lacrosse as an official and administrator.”

 World Lacrosse • Officials Assessor, 2017-2022. • Chair, Women's Rules Committee, 2012-2019. • Emeritus Umpire, 2011, 2017. • Technical Delegate, various tournaments, 1989-2013. • Accredited International Umpire, 1989-2022. • World Event Umpire, five events, 1993-2001. 

The condolences of the Camberwell Lacrosse Club membership are extended to Ann, Belinda and Scott and their families on the passing of our much loved and admired, Eric.

Eric Nicholls will be remembered as one of Camberwell Lacrosse Club’s best-ever lacrosse players and a long-term contributor as coach and administrator.

Our own Graeme Ross has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal in the Australian Honors announced today by the Australian Government.

After a brilliant playing career as an attack-midfield at Melbourne University and Caulfield clubs in the 1960’s and 70’s, Graeme transferred to Camberwell, played as a senior player, and coached the Under 15 premiership team in 1987 and the U17 premiership team in 1989.  He subsequently coached our State League Team from 1993-97 and from 1999-2003.

The sun was out for our final game of the 2022 season, and it was fantastic to be able to finish at home to cap off our first full season with this cohort of U12s. There has been such improvement over the course of the year, and this is a really special, connected group of kids and parents – a pleasure to be a part of, and an exciting group of players as we look to the future!
