Jan Jackson honoured

Great news for our club and the commitment our members make more broadly to lacrosse.  

Jan Jackson has been awarded an AM in the Australia Day Honors list for her work for Women’s lacrosse.  The citation was:

“For significant service to lacrosse as an official and administrator.”

Australian Lacrosse Association • Director, 2009-2021. • Director of Competition, 2011-2020. • Company Secretary, 2010-2020. • Director of Officiating (Women), 2009-2011. • Technical Delegate Southern Cross Tournament, 2016-2020. 

Australian Women’s Lacrosse Council • Director, 1989-2009. • Technical Delegate, Women's Nationals, 2001-2019. • Director of Competition and Special Events, 2000-2009. • Company Secretary, 1990-2009. • Director of Officiating, 1989-1999. • Life Member, since 1996.

 Lacrosse Victoria • Director, 1983-2009. • Past Players’ Janet Jackson Best and Fairest State League Grand Final Trophy, 2011. • Life Member, since 2000. 

Victorian Women's Lacrosse Association • Director, 1983-1998. • Umpire and Assessor, since 1985. • Life Member, since 1989. 

Camberwell Lacrosse Club • Former President. • Former Secretary, six years. • Committee Member, 1979-2007. • Life Member, since 2007. • Janet Jackson Honour Board, 2002. 

Awards and Recognition include: • Service Award, World Lacrosse, 2022. • Spirit of Lacrosse Award, World Lacrosse, 2022. • Emeritus Award, Women’s Officiating, 2017. • Nell Rawlins Award, 1986, and 2010. • Australian Sports Medal, 2000. • 150th Anniversary Award, City of Camberwell, 1985.
