Camberwell 7 def by Eltham-MCC 14

For round 3 we travelled to Albert Park to face a combined Eltham-MCC team. Our opposition was an experienced squad, with mostly 2nd year U16 veterans and boasting the best centre in the competition. We were missing 2 of our midfielders and our best face off guy and were therefore expecting an uphill battle.

We are holding our annual pasta night for players, parents and families. All are welcome including siblings not playing. The event includes a drink and a large serve of pasta.

Camberwell Lacrosse Club is holding a Junior Lacrosse information evening on May 3rd, 2012 at the at Dorothy Laver Reserve Club Rooms commencing at 5:30pm. All parents, regardless whether your child is playing lacrosse or not, are invited to attend.

This evening will be an opportunity for parents to meet club officials and gain an understanding of our club and the season ahead. It's also a good opportunity to meet other parents.

Lacrosse Victoria will be holding the Anual General Meeting on April 20th, 2011 at the MCC Lacrosse Club. The meeting will commence at 7:30pm and all are invited to attend.

Please note that the Google map on Lacrosse Victoria’s website is slightly wrong. Please enter the Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve directly from Midland Hwy a few meters past Carsons Rd. DO NOT use Carsons Rd. and, in reality, Sargent Rd does not exist.

The recreation complex is 1.9 km (on the left hand side) past the Howard St intersection, heading north out of Bendigo on the Midland Hwy.

The Australian Lacrosse Referees Association (ALRA) Victoria has scheduled two single evening sessions for this year’s referee accreditation. One on May 2nd at Kangan Batman TAFE Broadmeadows Campus and another on May 9th at Monash University Caulfield Campus.

The evening event includes a forum with ALRA referees and a test for aspirants and seasoned overseers, whose two-year accreditation has expired. Referees who took their accreditation last year will also need to undergo the reaccreditation “due to new rule changes.”

Ok Chiefs, coming up the weekend is the Ashburton Festival. For those of you who don't know too much about it, this is one of our major public events where we get to strut our stuff.

The City of Boroondara close off High Street in Ashburton for the day. There are rides, entertainment and whole bunch of events, with the highlight being (drum roll) the Camberwell Lacrosse Club marquee!

We'll be there for the day demonstrating lacrosse and spreading the good word. We'll have a stick and balls for people to try out, a goal and for the first time a Radar Gun!

It is with regret that we announce the passing of one of our members Ken Lander. Ken passed away Monday, 6^th of February.

Ken was a very active member of our club, first joining us with his son Clinton back in the 1980's. Ken went on to be a long serving committee member, vice president and manager of our State League side.

He was a tireless worker and enthusiastic supporter of the Club, especially on the sidelines on Saturdays.

The funeral at 2pm on Wednesday, 15^th of February at WD Rose: 339 Warrigal Road Burwood.

Camberwell Lacrosse Club will be holding a two evening coaching course for mentors in all sporting divisions on Feb. 29 and March 6 at 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Dorothy Laver Reserve clubrooms. The session will be facilitated by Josh Anderson and Travis Gathercole.
