Camberwell U11 Scorpions 3 def by Caulfield  8

In cold and windy conditions both teams started slowly and had difficulty scoring.  Max Broeks made some nice saves in goal but Caulfield persisted and got onto the scoreboard late in the opening quarter. Quim was defending strongly for the Wells with Watt and E. Whelen active on the midfield for Camberwell.  Dale Wilson got the Wells going in the second period when Lewis snatched a groundball and dodged for a nice assist.  Caulfield answered with two goals and took a 3-1 lead into half-time.

Camberwell U11 Scorpions 9 def Malvern Red 7

The Wells started strongly with Finn Whelen dominating the midfield to assist Dale Wilson and Mason Lewis with opening goals.  Malvern made numerous strong attacks but David Quim was applying pressure to their shooters and Charles Palfreeman made save after save in goal to keep them scoreless. When Lewis dodged menacingly for his second goal the Scorpions were out to a 3-0 first quarter lead.

Congratulations to Alistair Gloutnay, Denis Whelan, Josh Green, Ben Greenwood and Clinton (Cocky) Lander for being selected to represent Victoria in the upcoming Senior Nationals in Adelaide. Of particular note is Ben's selection as he is still an U18 junior.

The tournament begins next Wed., Jun-4 and we wish them all the best in their attempt to bring the national title where it belongs.

To challenge our juniors with their skill training, and to have a bit of fun, we will be running our annual Junior/Senior joint training on Thursday, 5/6. It will be a chance for our seniors and juniors to mix and get to know each other.
