Tanks and Cannons dominant
Our Under 11 teams took on Surrey Park in wintery weather at Dorothy Laver Reserve and both teams came out on top with impressive victories.
The Tanks final score was 14- 3 with Remy Turner, Owen Seibel and Magnus McCrae leading scoring, well supported by Harry Smith and Andrew Balzat-Fuller. Hamish Thompson starred as goalie, making multiple saves and running and clearing the ball with some great passes.
Best: Smith, McCrae, Turner, Thompson
For the Cannons, the scoring was opened by 6 year-old Zac Nicholls, his second goal for the season. His older brother Bailey Nicholls had a field day, bagging 11 goals in the team’s 22-7 win over Surrey Red with Dylan Wicken backing him up with 5 goals and 2 assists. James Wright controlled play in “quarter-back” style and notched up 7 assists along with his 2 goals and Emma Hew was impassable in defence and came up with a goal and 4 assists. Jasper Forsyth made the most of his opportunities in attack during the last quarter with two nice goals.
Best: B. Nicholls, Wicken, Forsyth, Wright
