Doug Fox awarded OAM

Our very own Doug Fox has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia as a part of the Australia Day 2010 celebrations. The award is in recognition for outstanding service to Australian Lacrosse and Victorian Golf.

A fitting recipient, Doug has been a tireless worker in all facets of lacrosse development. From the rejuvenation of junior at Camberwell Lacrosse Club right through to the Executive level of the Australian Lacrosse Council.

Australia's acknowledgement of Doug's service to Lacrosse, Golf and the community goes back many years. In 1982, Doug was awarded the National Medal for service to the community in hazardous circumstances.

After the Sydney Olympics in 2000, Doug was awarded Australian Sports Medal for services to Golf as Executive Director of the Victorian Golf Association.

Following that in 2001, Doug was awarded the Centenary Medal for services to sport, particularly golf and lacrosse.

Congratulations Doug Fox OAM!
