7 teams in Finals
The 2019 regular season has now completed and finals action is coming this weekend.
Last weekend the U13 boys played off for the minor Semi Final against Malvern/Chadstone. They worked hard all game but were not able to get the win to progress.
This weekend the following teams are competing:
U13 girls are playing the major semi final against Surrey/Eltham. Our girls finished the season on top of the ladder with only one loss. The whole team has consistently worked hard in defence, midfield and attack and exhibits unusually good skills for the U13 age group. Coach Cassidy Richards will be looking for more of the same from the team and the usual sparkle from Rhyannon in attack, Georgia through the midfield and Ella in goals.
Game time: 9:00 Sunday, Caulfield
U15 girls are playing the minor semi final against Surrey/Eltham. Just making the finals is a feat, considering all the girls except two are lower age U15. There has been some incredible improvement in performance over the season. Look out for Bianca and Angela who are first year players added from the other Camberwell U15 team based on their outstanding performance. Good luck girls.
Game time: 10:15 Sunday, Caulfield
U17 girls finals starts the following week. The Eastside girls have third place on the ladder wrapped up and will play finals. This week they play Williamstown Women.
A Grade women are playing the major semi final against Eltham after finishing as the top A grade team. They lost only one A grade match and have been competitive in their two State League cross over games. We are looking forward to seeing Laura controlling the draw, Grace and the Hollenkamps creating havoc in the midfield and on the scoreboard, Kelly scoring goals and Fiona saving them.
Game time: 1:15 Sunday, Caulfield
Div 2 are playing the major semi final against Surrey Park. The team has gone through the season with only one loss. With the top 4 goal scorers in the league being from Camberwell, there is plenty of firepower. Charismatic, vote-winning captain Twisty will lead the charge, along with Glenn and Zapper. On field commentary to be provided by Barney.
Game time: 12:30 Saturday, Altona
State League men are playing the minor semi final against Malvern. The last few weeks have been hard, with Camberwell coming up against the form sides with no wins. Now is the time to turn the corner. The last meeting with Malvern was a close one with a massive Cambwerwell 6 goal last quarter not quite enough to get the win. This week we will have our best possible team on the field, a ground without a mud heap in the middle and Marty, Cocky and Junior firing in attack. Captains Sean and Al will control the Malvern attack and we will bring home the win. That's the plan.
Game time: 2:45 Saturday, Altona
