Saturday Men's Results


State League

Camberwell have squandered a 3 goal lead at ¾ time to go down to Footscray in overtime by 4 goals. The scores were locked at 11 goals a piece when the final siren sounded. Footscray scored 4 overtime goals putting the result beyond doubt.

Camberwell lead for the first three quarters with the usual suspects dominating their opponents. Lander and Kerr had 4 goals a piece at ¾ time and young star Joel Easson was dominating thru the midfield and contributed with a fantastic goal. However, the fourth quarter was in stark contrast. Keeper Morse held Footscray to 5 goals, but some excellent ball movement and shooting by Footscray put the task beyond anyone's control.

Coach Gathercole had this to say, "Our skills really let us down today. The guys did everything right, but the fundamentals let us down. You can't expect to win matches with that many unforced errors. We'll talk about it as a team during the week and take it from there."
