U17 & U19 Boys and U17 & U21 Girls State Teams 2011

Everyone knows that the under age competition is the highlight of the junior lacrosse calendar. You see some pretty good lacrosse and fighting spirit from these kids. Last year Victoria took the U19 Boys national championship for the eight straight year while our girls won the U17 Janet Jackson Tournament Trophy and the Gold Medal.

Applications are now being called for players to trial for the State Teams who will compete in the National Championships to be played in Melbourne from 17th to 23rd April. Melbourne last hosted the Junior Nationals in 2008.

All players who intend to trial must submit the appropriate trial application form to Lacrosse Victoria together with payment of the $50 trial fee. The application forms can be downloaded from the Lacrosse Victoria website under Men’s or Women’s Lacrosse on the left hand menu.

Selection trials for the U17 & U19 Boys team will be held at Altona Lacrosse Club every 8-10am on 5, 6, 13, 20 February. Trials for the U17 Girls will be held right after the Boys trial from 10am-12 noon. Selection for the U21 team will be on 13 and 20 February from 10am-12 noon also. The U17 & U19 Boys will be coached by Brad Kendall and Eric Jenney, respectively. Cliff Jennings will coach the U17 Girls while Kristen Stone will coach the U21 Girls.
